Tryptophan and Magic Mushrooms
We often directed focus on the way psilocybin mushrooms interact with the serotonin system in our brain. It’s important to reframe the perception of how these mushrooms work. Serotonin is a DERIVATIVE of tryptophan. Without the essential amino acid - we can not make serotonin. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid which we get from our diets .and only 3% of tryptophan metabolism is dedicated to tryptophan.
Of that Only 1% is dedicated to serotonin synthesis in the brain!
